  • Research of advanced glass production technologies, new technologies for the processing and refinement of glass products with an emphasis on reducing energy consumption and the environmental impact of production, increasing the utility value of the product.
  • Research and optimisation of technology and production of completely new glass products.
  • Research and development of machines and equipment for advanced technologies of production, processing, and refinement of glass under the conditions of Industry 4.0.
  • Use of numerical simulations for their design, development, and optimisation.

Additive technologies for the production of glass products

  • Basic and applied research in the field of additive manufacturing technologies from glass (so-called 3D printing of glass).
  • Basic and applied research of the micro-melting of glass batches and the principles of heating micro to nano batches at softening to melting temperatures. Study of the dependence of the change of the boundary conditions on the resulting batch properties.
  • Research and development of experimental equipment to support basic research in this area.

New materials and machines for their production

  • New materials obtained based on basic research (e.g., porous glass plasticine).
  • Study of the physical and chemical properties of these materials.
  • Development of technologies and machines for production from new materials (e.g., Glasio acoustic glass, 3D printing-robocasting porous glass plasticine)
  • Metals in glass technologies.
  • Computer modelling of rheological and temperature-dependent materials.
