The department offers a wide range of professional seminars, training courses, and consultations. The seminars and training courses that we provide are mostly flexibly adapted to the client’s requirements (FESTO seminars are an exception). Therefore, the following list of seminars is mainly indicative, and the content can be altered within the framework of our specialisation. Pneumatics and Electropneumatics

Automation

The department professionally guarantees and provides lecturers for automation technology seminars held within the FESTO Didactic training centre at the Technical University in Liberec. Seminars are organised for those interested in industrial practice on the following themes: Introduction to pneumatics, pneumatic control systems, introduction to electropneumatics, and introduction to control by programmable automaton. Technical Novelties and Trends in Glassworking

Glass Technology

Instructor: Assoc. Ing. Vlastimil Hotař, Ph.D., Ing. Marie Stará, Ph.D.
Duration: 24 hours
Notes: The seminar is focused on explaining the basic concepts, and the properties of glass and enamel. Students also learn about glassmaking technology, from the preparation of the stem and batch, through foundation, melting, dosing, shaping, cooling, to processing and refining. Basic types of glass products and their production are discussed.
If there is interest in the explanation of laboratory test methods in the form of a demonstration, it is necessary that this part takes place at the department.
 

Production and Processing of Glass Jewelery

Duration: 24 teaching hours
Notes: The seminar is intended for workers in the field of production of glass jewellery and interior accessories. Students first become acquainted with the basic concepts of glass melting, with melting and auxiliary furnaces, then they learn about shaping, production technologies, processing, and refining of products. The seminar can take place entirely at the client’s premises, it can be modified according to the client’s requirements, and it can be divided into stages.
 

Introduction to Glass Properties and Flat Glass Production Technology for the Automotive Industry

Notes: The seminar is intended for workers in companies operating in the automotive industry and working with the issue of flat glass for automobiles. The seminar is supplemented by demonstrations in the department’s laboratories.

Modular Design of Handling Systems

Duration: 24 teaching hours
Notes: The seminar is intended for designers, production specialists, and teachers. Its aim is to acquaint students with an overview of the offered modules, their properties, and the way of optimised design of purpose-built robots and manipulators using company software. Emphasis is placed on respecting the dynamic forces and rigidity of the structure with minimal workload and costs. The seminar will take place at the Department of Glass Machinery and Robotics.
 

Grippers for Robotics and Automatic Handling

Instructor: Assoc. Ing. František Novotný, CSc., doc. Ing. Marcel Horák, PhD.
Duration: 24 teaching hours
Notes: The seminar is intended for designers, production specialists, and teachers. Its aim is to provide an overview of holding and gripping techniques. It provides an overview of grippers, calculation of gripping force with an appropriate safety margin, and construction of gripping elements for mechanical and vacuum grippers. It covers selection of grip heads from the catalogue of renowned manufacturers. Active vacuum gripper design. Overview of vacuum sources and elements for their effective operation and management. Practical examples of application in a robotic workplace. The seminar will take place at the Department of Glass Machinery and Robotics.
