RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
Contactless detection and control of the shape of objects made of transparent materials and description of their surface
- Research of methods of detecting objects made of transparent materials to obtain their 2D and 3D images, methods of detecting defects and faults on the surface and inside of glass products (FOR-G, Preciosa Ornela).
- Research in the field of the application of fractal geometry for the description of surface layers and application of algorithms to data from industrial practice, including the introduction of new data evaluation methodologies (based on tools of fractal geometry, statistics, Fourier transformation, etc.) into industry.
Acquisition of 2D and 3D images of difficult-to-detect objects
- Machine vision systems, machine (robot) vision applications.
- Research and development of methodologies to obtain and interpret 3D images of difficult-to-detect objects (shiny surfaces, surfaces with parasitic reflections, objects made of transparent materials or materials with subsurface light scattering, and others). (odkaz Folie-Škoda)
- Research of image data acquisition methodologies using electromagnetic radiation beyond the visible spectrum (infrared and ultraviolet electromagnetic radiation), mechanical waves (ultrasound), and other physical fields for subsequent interpretation of 2D and 3D images and quality assessment. Development of applications for industrial deployment.
